Travel insurance

Northly does not sell it; what Northly covers anyway.

Northly does not sell travel insurance. Every extra we sell is on our fees page, and insurance is not one of them.

What Northly covers anyway

  • The 24-hour rule: a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours of booking and the first flight is 7 days or more away. See Cancelling within 24 hours.
  • Taxes on a flight you do not fly, refunded minus an admin fee. See Cancelling later.
  • Flex, which cancels to travel credit for 100 percent of the booking. See Flex: free changes and cancelling to credit.
  • Your rights when we delay or cancel a flight: care, a new flight or a refund, and compensation when it is owed. See Compensation under EU261.
  • Bags: we pay for a lost, damaged or pilfered bag up to the legal limit. See Damaged or lost bag.
  • Death or serious illness in the close family: write to us with a document, and a colleague decides the case personally.

What insurance may add

A travel insurer may cover things Northly does not, such as the fare of a Light, Smart or Plus flight you cannot take because you are ill. What a policy covers is between you and the insurer, so read its terms before you rely on it.

If an insurer asks for papers

Your invoice lists the passengers, the flights and every amount paid. Open it from your booking in Manage booking; see Invoices and VAT receipts.
