The rules, and the reasons
Exit rows
Rows 12 and 14 on the A320neo and 11, 25 and 33 on the A321neo. You can sit there if you are 16 or over, travel without an infant, have no assistance request, and can follow crew instructions in English or a Scandinavian language. The reason: in an evacuation, the people by the exits open them.
Infants
An infant sits on an adult's lap, at most one infant in each block of three seats, and never in an exit row. The reason is the number of spare oxygen masks in each block.
Held rows
Rows 31 and 32 on the A320neo and 39 and 40 on the A321neo are not sold in advance. We release them at check-in for family seating and for travellers who did not buy a seat.
Row 1 and windows
Row 1 has no under-seat storage in front: your personal item goes in the overhead bin for take-off and landing. Seats 11A and 11F on the A320neo and 10A, 10F, 24A, 24F on the A321neo have no window.
