Travel credit and vouchers
Where credit comes from, how long it lasts, how to check a balance or a VC code.
Travel credit is money held for you to spend with Northly. It is not cash, and it is not passed to another person.
Where credit comes from
- Cancelling a Flex booking: credit for 100 percent of the booking. See Flex: free changes and cancelling to credit.
- Choosing credit after we cancel your flight or make a major schedule change: 110 percent of the unused value. See If your flight is cancelled.
- A seat fee we could not honour after a change, or after an assistance request moved you out of an extra legroom seat.
- A compensation or expense claim you chose to have paid as credit.
How it works
- Credit sits in a wallet tied to the email address that made the booking. It has no code; that email address is the key.
- It is held in the booking's currency, NOK or EUR, always in whole kroner or whole euro.
- It is valid 12 months from the day it is issued.
- When you spend it, the oldest credit is used first.
- It pays for any Northly booking made with that email address, for any passengers, and for changes and extras on those bookings.
Vouchers
Some credit comes as a voucher with a code: VC and eight digits, for example VC73920415. On the phone, say "V, C" and then the digits one at a time. A voucher has the same 12 months of validity and the same uses as credit in the wallet.
Checking a balance
- Ask in the Northly Help chat on this site, when it is open. Manage booking does not show a balance.
- For the wallet, confirm with the one-time code we send to the email address. A balance is money, so we check it is you. We tell you the balance in each currency, how much expires first and when, and the last movements.
- For a voucher, the code is enough. We tell you whether it is active, used or expired, what is left on it, and when it expires.
An expired credit or voucher can no longer be used.
