Cheap because it is simple

Northly was founded in 2014 by a former charter airline planner and a regional airport manager. Both had spent years watching Nordic travellers pay full-service fares for ninety-minute hops, and both thought an airline could be cheaper by being plainer, not by being sly.

The plan fitted on one page: one aircraft family, point to point, a fare that covers the seat, a clear price for everything else, and no rule that cannot be explained in one sentence. The first aircraft flew Oslo to Bergen and Oslo to Malaga in Mar 2015.

Today we fly 16 aircraft on 39 routes, 760 flights a week to 24 airports in 12 countries, with about 1,100 colleagues including cabin crew and pilots. Head office is in the airport business park at Oslo Gardermoen, with a second office in Bergen.

Low fares. Nothing silly.
