Paying in NOK or EUR

How the currency is chosen.

Every Northly booking is in one of two currencies, chosen once when you book and never mixed.

The rule

  • Norwegian kroner (NOK) when you choose Norway as your country of residence at booking.
  • Euro (EUR) for every other country, including Sweden and Denmark. We charge in euro outside Norway.

The reason

Two currencies keep prices simple to read and simple to check. Every fee on our fees page has a NOK price and a EUR price. Both are set prices, not conversions, so the price you see is the price you pay.

What follows from it

  • Every extra you add later, a bag, a seat, a meal, is charged in the booking's currency.
  • Refunds go back in the booking's currency.
  • Travel credit is held in the booking's currency and pays for bookings in that currency.
  • Compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004 is always set in euro, because the regulation sets it in euro. See Compensation under EU261.

If you chose the wrong country

The currency cannot be changed on an existing booking. If you booked in the wrong currency in the last 24 hours and your first flight is 7 days or more away, you can cancel for a full refund and book again. See Cancelling within 24 hours.
