If your flight is delayed

Care, and what to expect.

If your flight is delayed by 30 minutes or more, we tell you by email and text message with the new estimated time. You can also check Flight status at any time.

Care during a delay

Whatever the cause, we look after you once the delay reaches:

  • 2 hours on flights up to 1,500 km
  • 3 hours on flights from 1,500 km to 3,500 km
  • 4 hours on longer flights

Care means:

  • Meal vouchers of NOK 169 (EUR 15) per passenger, from the gate staff. There are none before the delay reaches the time above. From then on you get one for each started 3 hours of the whole delay, counted from the scheduled departure: a delay of 3 hours 40 minutes brings two. After a cancellation you get one.
  • A hotel and transport if you are kept overnight. On a delay, that means the delayed departure falls on the next calendar day, local time. After a cancellation, it means the earliest new flight we can offer leaves on a later day than your original flight.

If no voucher was given

Keep your receipts. You can claim meals, a hotel and transport afterwards; see Claiming expenses.

At 5 hours

If the delay reaches 5 hours, you may choose not to fly and have the unused flight refunded to your original payment within 7 days.

Compensation

If you arrive 3 hours or more late, and the cause was within our control, you are entitled to compensation. While the delay is still running we can tell you what would be owed; the amount is settled when the flight arrives. See Compensation under EU261.

What to do now

  1. Stay near the gate and check Flight status.
  2. Ask the gate staff for meal vouchers once the care threshold is reached.
  3. After arrival, ask us in the chat whether compensation is due. We check it for you and file the claim.
