Flight status and what it means

How to check a flight, what each status means, and when we tell you.

Every Northly flight has one status at a time. You can check any flight on Flight status, or ask the chat with the flight number and the date, for example N3 1041 today. No booking details are needed.

What each status means

  • SCHEDULED: The flight is planned as in the timetable.
  • ON TIME: The flight is expected to leave at the scheduled time.
  • DELAYED: The flight has a new estimated time, shown next to the scheduled one.
  • BOARDING: Boarding has started, 40 minutes before departure.
  • GATE CLOSED: The gate closed 30 minutes before departure. Nobody else can board.
  • DEPARTED: The aircraft has left the gate.
  • ARRIVED: The aircraft is at the arrival gate.
  • DIVERTED: The flight landed at another airport than planned.
  • CANCELLED: The flight will not operate. Your options and rights are in If your flight is cancelled.

When we tell you

If your flight is delayed by 30 minutes or more, cancelled or moved, we send an email and a text message to the contact details on the booking, so you hear it from us first.

Times and gates

Times are always local to the airport, in 24-hour form. The gate is shown from 3 hours before departure.

If your flight is delayed or cancelled
