About Malaga

Malaga is a port city on the Costa del Sol, with the Moorish Alcazaba and the Gibralfaro castle on the hill above the harbour. The old town has the cathedral and the Picasso Museum, and the beaches start a short walk east of the port.

Winters are mild and summers are hot, so spring and autumn are the easiest months for walking. Trains run along the coast to Torremolinos and Fuengirola, and Granada and Ronda are day trips inland.

Northly uses the airport’s one passenger building; the boarding pass shows the gate only. The gate is published 3 hours before departure, on the screens and in the booking.

To and from the city

Malaga airport is about 8 km southwest of the centre. The local train takes about 12 minutes to the city. Times are a rough guide; check the local operator for timetables and prices.
