Skis, golf bags, bicycles and how to bring an instrument.

Sports equipment travels as a sports item, with its own price.

Sports items

Skis, a golf bag, a bicycle in a box or a surfboard, up to 23 kg each, cost NOK 499 (EUR 45) per item per flight online, until 2 hours before departure. At the airport, NOK 229 (EUR 20) is added.

  • Pack it in a bag or box made for it. A bicycle must be boxed, with the pedals removed and the handlebar turned.
  • Skis and boots may share one ski bag.
  • An item over 23 kg costs NOK 139 (EUR 12) per kilo over at the airport, up to 32 kg.

Musical instruments

A small instrument that fits the cabin bag size, 55 x 40 x 23 cm and 10 kg, travels as your cabin bag. A larger instrument travels in the hold as a checked bag, in a hard case, at the checked bag price for its weight: NOK 339 (EUR 30) up to 20 kg or NOK 429 (EUR 38) up to 23 kg online. Over 23 kg, NOK 139 (EUR 12) per kilo over is paid at the airport, up to 32 kg. An instrument is not a sports item. See Checked bags.

Northly sells no seat for an instrument, or for any other object: a seat on a booking is always for a passenger.

Why a separate price

Sports items are heavy, long and handled by hand, which is why they cost more than an ordinary bag and are not part of the bag allowance in Plus or Flex.

How to add one

  1. Open the booking in Manage booking or ask in the chat.
  2. Add a sports item for each passenger and flight.
  3. Confirm with the one-time code we send to the email address or mobile number on the booking.
