Buying bags at the airport

The airport surcharge, overweight and a bag that is too big at the gate.

You can always add a bag at the airport. It costs more there than online, and we say so before you get there.

The airport surcharge

Every bag bought at the airport, cabin, checked or sports, costs the online price plus NOK 229 (EUR 20). At the airport desk:

  • A cabin bag is NOK 428 (EUR 38), instead of NOK 199 (EUR 18) online.
  • A 20 kg checked bag is NOK 568 (EUR 50), instead of NOK 339 (EUR 30) online.
  • A 23 kg checked bag is NOK 658 (EUR 58), instead of NOK 429 (EUR 38) online.
  • A sports item is NOK 728 (EUR 65), instead of NOK 499 (EUR 45) online.

Overweight

A bag heavier than its allowance costs NOK 139 (EUR 12) per kilo over, paid at the airport. No bag may weigh more than 32 kg.

Too big at the gate

Buying a cabin bag at the desk is one thing; a bag that does not fit at the gate is another. If your personal item, or your cabin bag, is bigger than its size when you reach the gate, it goes in the hold at the airport price for a 20 kg checked bag, NOK 568 (EUR 50). There is no separate gate fee. Take any power bank or spare battery out first: they stay with you in the cabin. Measure before you leave home: the sizes are in Your personal item and Cabin bags and priority boarding.

Why the difference

Bags bought online let us plan the load and the staff at bag drop. A bag that appears at the desk costs us more to handle, and the surcharge reflects that.

Buy online instead

Bags can be bought online until 2 hours before departure, in Manage booking or in the chat. The quote shows the online price next to the airport price.
