Special assistance
Free, ask 48 hours ahead, the codes, and no row 1 or exit row seat with a request.
Special assistance is free on every Northly flight. Tell us what you need and we tell the airports.
When to ask
At least 48 hours before departure, so both airports are told in time. Later requests are accepted, and we do what we can; we tell you plainly whether your request is inside or outside the 48 hours.
The codes
Airlines and airports use these codes. You do not need to know them; we pick the right one with you.
- WCHR: Wheelchair for distance; can climb steps and walk in the cabin
- WCHS: Wheelchair; cannot climb steps; can walk in the cabin
- WCHC: Wheelchair to the seat; cannot walk in the cabin
- WCBD: Own wheelchair: dry cell battery
- WCBW: Own wheelchair: wet cell battery
- WCLB: Own wheelchair: lithium battery
- WCMP: Own wheelchair: manual
- BLND: Blind or visually impaired
- DEAF: Deaf or hard of hearing
- DPNA: Intellectual or developmental disability, needs assistance
- MAAS: Meet and assist, other reasons stated in the note
- SVAN: Assistance dog in the cabin
- OXYG: Needs own medical oxygen on board; medical form required, human review
Your own wheelchair
Your own wheelchair or mobility aid travels free. Tell us the type and the battery. For a lithium battery (WCLB), give the battery's watt-hours.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs travel free in the cabin on every route, including London and Edinburgh. They are not pets, and the pet rules do not apply.
Medical oxygen
If you need your own medical oxygen on board (OXYG), a medical form is required and a colleague reviews it. Ask early.
What changes on your booking
- The airport check-in fee is waived for you.
- You are not seated in row 1 or an exit row. If you had one of those seats, we move you, because they are for passengers without assistance needs. We say why once.
How to ask
- Open the booking in Manage booking or ask in the chat. The booking reference and a last name are enough.
- Tell us what you need, for each flight.
- We confirm which airports are told, and where to go when you arrive.
