About Palma de Mallorca

Palma is the capital of Mallorca, and its Gothic cathedral, La Seu, stands on the old sea wall above the bay. Behind it the old town is a maze of narrow streets and courtyards, and the marina and the beach promenade run east and west.

The Serra de Tramuntana mountains in the northwest are good for walking and cycling outside the hottest months. The old wooden train to Soller runs from the centre.
