About Faro

Faro is the capital of the Algarve, the southern coast of Portugal. The small walled old town looks over the lagoon of the Ria Formosa, a nature park of islands and channels where boats run out to quiet beaches.

West along the coast, the cliffs, sea caves and arches between Lagos and Albufeira are reached by car, bus or a boat trip. The Algarve is mild in winter and busy in July and August.
